A propos d'Hanwon Ryu
A certified Korean teacher by the Ministry of Education of Korea, graduated from Seoul National University as Korean education major in 2001.
In the first part of my professional life, I took the path as a journalist for various magazines, where I produced and wrote feature stories mainly on travel & lifestyle trends for about 8 years. My deep interest in language led me to translation work, which has been my primary occupation ever since. From 2013 to 2015, I worked for Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) as a Press Officer at its Seoul office. My professional background varies, but it all sumps up to sharing knowledge and information.
Since moving to Belgium in 2015, I have been working as a translator & interpreter, and started teaching Korean as a foreign language. This experience made me rediscovered the passion for teaching. Recently I got interested in exploring more efficient second language acquisition methods – particularly ‘comprehensible input’. The goal in my new interest is to better support my students’ Korean acquisition to be more efficient and practical, as well as to improve my own foreign language skills.
